Join the Atherstone community energy workshop to share ideas and shape practical solutions.
This community-focused event brings local people together to explore how Atherstone can save energy, reduce costs and take action together.
Organised by Warwickshire County Council in conjunction with Atherstone Town Council and the University of Gloucestershire, this is a hands-on opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and turn local knowledge into real, achievable projects that will cut your costs.
How it works
The workshop takes place in two parts, and you’ll ideally need to be available to attend both.
Part 1: Online Webinar (Wednesday 16th September 4 pm – 5:30 pm)
This short online session will introduce the challenge, share local context and opportunities, and help you start thinking about ideas. A joining link will be sent to you nearer the date.
Part 2: In-person Workshop, St Benedict’s RC Church, 7 Owen Street, Atherstone, CV9 1DG (Wednesday 23rd September 09:30 am – 3:30 pm)
At this longer event, you’ll work with others to develop ideas into practical project concepts, explore potential funding opportunities, and identify next steps to make them happen.What to expect:
Whether you come with an idea or just an interest, you’ll leave with a better understanding of local energy challenges, and how we can tackle them together.
Please note: Warwickshire County Council are partnering with the University of Gloucestershire who will host the webinar. In order to facilitate this, the University of Gloucestershire will need to share your personal details with Warwickshire County Council who will ensure your personal details are held securely.
This event contributes to a wider research project which is led by the University of Gloucestershire’s Countryside and Community Research Institute, looking at how people can work together to develop practical energy solutions. As part of this, you’ll be asked to read a short participant information sheet and confirm your agreement before the event begins.
